The Oregon Health Authority told KATU News it is working to quickly scale up vaccination efforts in order to provide vaccines to seniors and educators. On Tuesday, Gov. Kate Brown announced educators and people 65 years or older would be able to get the vaccine starting Jan. 23. The sudden change came after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention directed states to start vaccinating people 65+ who have health issues that make them more at risk.
